For five years, a great cultural festival has been held in the city of Gijón, Spain. This cultural event is aimed at a young audience, as it involves topics such as cinema, videogames, comics, music, gastronomy, etc. With guests of great national and international size in music, comics, gastronomy, cinema, as well as a cosplay show, which includes a parade of Star Wars characters.

And among all this range of activities and culture, Hugo Maciel and his airbrushing academy, make an appearance, with the support of their students and members of the Cultural Aerographers Association of Asturias. That with various activities derived from airbrushing, have come to add the extra touch to the event.

Oswald Arias, Lucia Abreu and Alejandro Dago participated in the different activities in the airbrushing workshops for children. Where the children have had their first contact with airbrushing. Eva Álvarez has been dedicated to the application of temporary tattoos. In the Body Paint area, we had Javier Tornero, supported by Hugo Maciel himself. In which they painted the beautiful students and models, Patricia Pérez and Laura García. With representations of the comic characters: Mystic and Miss Captain America. All this in the Marquet area of ​​the event.

In the rest of the event they moved to the area of ​​Comic Con. Where the automotive painting activities were carried out, where Adrián Rodríguez and Javier Tornero painted the hood of cars. While Hugo Maciel, he painted a door of a car, with an Aztec motif, alluding to his Mexican origins.

In addition to other activities such as painted t-shirts and mural, made by Adrián Martí and Daniel Castro. We also received a visit from the press and local TV with a live link.

Finally, an airbrushing workshop was developed, where Sara González, Luis Álvarez among others, painted a Joker with green fire in a fire extinguisher. This workshop was conducted by Hugo Maciel. All this in an atmosphere of culture and magic.

Metropolis – Comic Con Gijón, is one of the biggest cultural events in the north of Spain, and having had the opportunity to attend and demonstrate what is this beautiful and exciting art of airbrushing, has been a success in the hard task of spreading our art We appreciate the recognition of the directors of the event for providing us the opportunity and the space. And the door is open for the next edition.
