However large the little bee is appearing in this artwork – British artist Tony Dee has painted it rather small. Instead of a 12 x 16 inch board, which he usually uses, the bee has just enough space on a 8 x 8 inch Clayboard. Nevertheless, he has devoted himself to the many hairs and textures of the little creature with great attention to detail.
About the author:
Tony Dee lives in England and has been airbrush painting for 3 years. He had quite a bad motorcycle accident 4 years ago, breaking and partially dislocating his left shoulder in the process. Whilst he was recovering, he was looking for a hobby he could do to keep him busy. He came across some videos on the internet of airbrush artists and he was amazed at how they could produce such stunning art. So, he decided to have a go and discovered the wonderful world of airbrushing. Tony paints in his spare time but would love to become a full time artist. He has a love for animals and in particular dogs, so he naturally gravitated towards painting wildlife and pets. Although over the last 12 months he has painted a few human portraits also.
