You won’t be able to miss this T-shirt, because the alien presented here will stare right into your face with its big wide saucer eyes. It’s called “Carnal”, which in Spanish means both “made of meat” and “sensual” & “lustful”. Come to think about it, that’s kind of what it means in English too! But is it already an indication of this alien’s character? Artist Iran Caro from Venezuela surely had something specific in mind when decided on a name for this work. The artist says, “It is really easy to make a piece of work like this on your own, to follow the steps, and to enjoy the art of drawing and painting with an airbrush with passion.”
About the artist:
Iran Caro was born in Santiago de Chile in 1962. At the age of 13, he took part in his first ever drawing course at the Escuela de Arquitectura in Santiago de Chile, then participated in a comic book drawing course held by well-known newspaper and Walt Disney artist Pepo. In 1979, he moved to Caracas, Venezuela, and illustrated comics for newspapers, magazines, and children’s books. In 1982, he began his studies in visual arts at the „Cristobal Rojas” Institute for Visual Arts. There, he became interested in airbrush art and began studying airbrushing techniques. He cemented his knowledge and experience as an artist and became one of Venezuela’s pioneers in airbrush art. Since 1987, he’s been organizing and heading the Airbrush Biennale. He works as an artist, teacher, designer, and illustrator for numerous well-known institutions across the planet.
