How crazy is that? Australian artist Paul MacDonald has recreated Leonardo da Vinci’s world-famous, over 500-year-old portrait of the Mona Lisa using an airbrush – with all the cracks and textures of the wooden panel. This combination was both exciting and scary for Paul.

About the author:

Paul MacDonald is originally from England, but he has been living in Australia for 15 years. Four years ago, he discovered that he loved painting while helping his daughter with her homework. He started drawing for his children to help get them away from iPads! „Airbrush Tutor“ and the Orange forum helped him get started. Watching the Coast TV videos and reading Airbrush Step by Step magazine gave him direction. He had the privilege of attending a Dru Blair portrait course, which was the turning point for him as he now had a system to practice and work to. He has just started a business called „Airvengers“ to further his dream of becoming an art teacher, and promoting this amazing art tool to the world.
