And considering that I do not look very good in photos, I’m going to use one from one of my shootings“, states Ralph-Torsten Kolmer from Kaufbeuren, Germany, about his portrait motif. Portrait paintings are his favorite topic and what you’re about to see isn’t your typical portrait.
About the artist:
Ralph-Torsten Kolmer was born in Kaufbeuren, Germany, in 1965. Already in his childhood colors and pictures were his main interest. In 1980 he finished secondary school and started an apprenticeship in metalworking. In 1997 he enrolled at the Institute for Education in Fine Arts and Art Therapy in Bochum and completed 6 semesters of Airbrush Design. In 2000 he finished art school and started his own business as an airbrush artist. In the beginning part-time, later on he was running his business full-time and painted different surfaces like cars, walls or stones in the following years. But what he prefers most is portrait painting on canvas and cardboard. Ralph-Torsten Kolmer is married and still lives in his home town.
