Since 2016, the Taiwanese airbrush manufacturer Sparmax has regularly been organizing an international airbrush competition with participants from more than 30 countries. While the competition brings artists and art together across national borders and cultural differences, this year Sparmax recognizes the imperative of advocating for peace in view of the ongoing global conflicts. As part of the competition, artists are invited to integrate the theme of peace into their works. Those who succeed in doing so can count on bonus points when their work is judged.
Five categories are available for participation: Fine Art Realism, Fine Art Fantasy, Automotive Painting, Hobby / Model Making, as well as a Junior category for participants under the age of 17. There are cash prizes of up to 700 US dollars, Sparmax airbrush equipment and a comprehensive presentation of the winners in Airbrush Step by Step magazine. This year’s top-class jury consists of the well-known photorealist Dru Blair, the Australian airbrush artist, lecturer and influencer Carsten Zehmisch, the Turkish modeling expert Evrim Duyar, the well-known Mexican illustrator Gerald Mendez, the director of the Japan Airbrush Association, Masakazu Iwasaki, Airbrush Step by Step editor-in-chief Roger Hassler and the Sparmax team.
The deadline for entries is May 20, 2024, and participants may submit one work per category, so multiple entries are possible. The images must be submitted as a digital photo by email. All rules and information at:
