The World Bodypainting Festival is heading to the big city! After having taken place in Seeboden and Pörtschach, the body art festival will spend its 20th year in the Austrian city of Klagenfurt. Instead of lake shores, the event will take place from the 28th to 30th of July, 2017, at the Goethe Park in Klagenfurt, namely from the flamboyant buildings of the city theater, the artist house, and the city gallery.
But the rest is as it always has been! In addition to 200 hard-working teams of artists from 50 countries, the “Bodypaint City” event floor will feature several stages with international musical acts, info and shopping stands about bodypainting, fashion, and lifestyle as well as cool culinary food trucks. The participants will compete against each other in several categories and painting techniques for the World Awards in airbrush bodypainting, paintbrush/sponge bodypainting, face painting, special effects bodypainting, UV effects, and installation art. The topic of competition this year is „Utopia – What vision becomes your reality” and „Customs & Traditions – Tell us about yours”. The results of the preliminary round and the finals will be presented during evenings on the main stage.
For those who not only want to just look and see, but would like to be creative and actively learn, can grab a spot in the WB Academy workshops and courses on body art that will take place the week before.
