Once again, the airbrush world has lost one of its all-time greats: renowned airbrush illustrator and custom painter Eddie Harris passed away on February 14 at the age of 71. Eddie was born in Texas in 1950 and grew up as an adopted child from the age of nine. He began drawing at an early age, painting portraits by the time he was 15, winning his first art award. This helped him win an art scholarship. After serving in the Vietnam War, he began his career as an illustrator at Hanna-Barbera Animation Studios. Later he designed movie cars, hot rod cars, and airplanes. He created works for famous US football teams, for US presidents, actors, musicians, and motorsport legends. He even taught design techniques at an art glass studio in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington. He also enjoyed being a guest at airbrush events such as Mike Lavallee’s MonsterBash and the Airbrush Art Circus. Eddie Harris is survived by his family and many friends and fans around the world. RIP Eddie Harris.
