The ASBS team got a shocking message this morning: The Dutch airbrush artist Jeroen van Nijhof (38) was found dead in his appartment in the Scottish city of Dundee on Friday morning. A 21 year old British man is suspected to have beaten van Nijhof with a piece of wood as well as having kicked him and stabbed with a knife. The suspect John Styles got arrested. He is also suspected to have stolen 10 pounds and a box.

Jeroen van Nijhof was an amazing artist who was featured on the cover of Airbrush Step by Step magazine twice with „The Pearl Princess“ (issue 02/2013) and „Requiem for a dream“ (issue 05/2015). His work showed a huge amount of details and precision. Sometimes, we worked more than 800 hours on a single artwork. Jeroen also made sculptures from paper and sold them quite successfully. Jeroen van Nijhof leaves his partner and 4 kids.

The whole Airbrush Step by Step team is sick at heart about the loss of this great artist. Our feelings are with Jeroen’s family and friends. We wish everyone lots of strength.
