Since 2016, the Taiwanese airbrush manufacturer Sparmax has regularly organized an international airbrush competition with participants from over 30 countries. This year, artists from all over the world were again called upon to submit airbrush works in the categories Fine Art – Realism, Fine Art – Fantasy, Automotive Painting and Hobby/Model Building. New this year was a Junior category for participants under the age of 17.
The jury, which included Airbrush Step by Step Editor-in-Chief Roger Hassler, had a difficult task: selecting a handful of winners from over 200 top-notch entries. At the beginning of July, the time had come: the first three placings in each category were announced. The 13 artists can look forward to cash prizes, compressors and airbrush equipment worth a total of 8,000 US dollars.
We present the five first-place winners and their works in the current Airbrush Step by Step issue No. 65, 04/22.
